后推出的e new Code of Practice (PAS 7100) for consumer product safety recalls in the UK, Electrical Safety First and The Office of Product Safety and Standards hosted a sold out event which assessed recall preparedness compared against the Code.
The event was attended by industry experts across the installation and product supply chain including product manufacturers, retailers, importers, installers, product testing houses, safety advocates and lawyers.
Using a case study scenario the panellists examined the pre-corrective action process, providing insight into the role and responsibility of senior management, product traceability and incident monitoring. As the scenario unfolded the panellists discussed risk assessment, decision making, notification and relationship with regulatory authorities.
As the scenario developed into a corrective action situation the panellists shared views and experience for running an effective recall to ensure consumer safety whilst retaining or boosting consumer confidence and brand reputation. The panellists explored effective incident management and monitoring, communication strategy, recall execution, remedy and evaluation.
At the end of the event the delegates were better informed to assess their incident and corrective action process or prompt them to carry out a more formal gap analysis to make sure that they are recall ready. The event also provided delegates excellent networking opportunities and participation in Q&A sessions.
