Electrical Safety Fund

Electrical Safety Fund – open for applications until Midnight, Sunday 23rdOctober 2022

In response to the cost-of-living crisis, and the likelihood of electrical safety being compromised by financial concerns, Electrical Safety First has made up to£100,000available to help fund electrical safety initiatives through partnership working at local level.

The Fund aims to keep people safe in their homes, with a focus on tackling risks associated with electrical products, increasing the public’s awareness of electrical safety, and promoting changes in behaviour.

Applicants are invited to apply for up to £5,000 per organisation (potentially up to £10k for joint or larger projects). The grants are available to consumer safety organisations in the community, such as Fire & Rescue Services, Trading Standards teams and charities, to deliver effective electrical safety initiatives at local level aimed at addressing the problems of misuse and/or lack of maintenance of electrical products.

The Fund aims to provide a direct benefit to local communities through project-based partnerships which will deliver outcomes that, in the long term, will contribute to a reduction in electrical risks in UK homes.

Guidance for the Electrical Safety Fund can be viewedbelow. This contains further details about the Fund, including the types of projects that will be given preference for funding.
